Travel sketch of the castle and houses from San Andres, done during a 3 week painting trip to the Spanish Canarian Island Tenerife in February 2013.
The castle originally served to protect the island of Tenerife from pirate attacks. A torrent of water from a ravine collapsed part of the castle, but the other half is still standing. In 1967, it was declared a Spanish Historical Heritage.
Miki, a long short story... Miki is a professional French artist, born in the Pyrenees, Her works have been sold and published worldwide. Her painting is a reflection of her life: a permanent oscillation between light and shadow, lines and shapes, times and places, always looking for that equilibrium which she can only find in continuous movement, in the mysterious and the unknown.
