The winters on the Costa Blanca in Spain are generally quite mild, and one hardly needs to wear any winter clothes. The day I went to Cactus Landia, a cactus garden with many birds on the coast between Altea and Calpe, the temperatures had dropped dramatically, it was freezing. I saw and sketched these two geese, and could not resist to put a woollen hat on the younger one: he was shivering!
