Artist's Description
I saw this lovely scene in a part of Avila outside of the city walls, where tourists dont go.. I found the contrast between the peaceful ducks by the water in the sun and the impressive fortifications very appealing, almost surreal.
Avila is a Spanish city located in the autonomous community of Castile and Leon, and is the capital of the Province of Avila.
It is sometimes called the City of Stones and Saints, and it claims that it is one of the cities with the highest number of Romanesque and Gothic churches (and bars and restaurants) per capita in Spain. It is notable for having complete and prominent medieval city walls, built in the Romanesque style..
Travel sketch of Avila done on site during a painting trip through Spain in October 2013.

Miki, about herself: "... Passionate. Impatient. Unappeasable, uncontrollable! I prefer dancing on a volcano rather than to sit at home! I love the...
