Description
I had yesterday to fight with an immense packet containing giant canvasses, it was wrapped in such a safe way that I needed hours to unpack. The fact that I am not very tall did not help. It had been already an epic to get it up the stairs with the delivery man.
My way of choosing films is simple: I love everything which is about artists, writers or musicians. And I love everything taking place in countries like Italy, France, Scandinavia,etc... and Ireland!
The film I chose was "A Shine of Rainbows" (2009). Storyline:
"...Maire O'Donnell is a loving woman as rare as a double rainbow. Joyful, warm and caring, she adopts a young orphan named Tomas and whisks him off to a new home on remote Corrie Island, off the coast of Ireland. Maire shares with Tomas the joys of her island home and introduces him to the whimsical local folklore, including the secret of the seals, and teaches him that everything you need is inside of you- if you really look..."
I very much enjoyed the acting (and especially John Bell as the kid, particularly touching), and the filming work.
I paused the film sometimes, and did some rash sketches... Here is one of them (the Dad with his sheep) water-coloured after the film...
