Description
Watercolour painting of Teddy Bear truffle McFurry demonstrating with his friends for justice for Cecil, the lion killed by a tourist in Zimbabwe.
Truffle McFurry tells the story:
" I read on the news what happened to Lion Cecil, and I was commenting it to Miki, as we suddenly heard a powerful roaring! Well, it came from Leo Lympic.
I never told you before from Leo because I have no much connection to him. He came into the house before me, 3 years ago. Miki got him from England from the Olympic GB Team, having followed the games with big pleasure.
Anyway, since he lives here, Leo main job is to be used as a scarecrow for the birds who are trying to build their nests on our balcony. A full time job, which leaves him hardly time to socialise!
As he heard the horror news about Cecil, he decided to go down on the street and make a demonstration. He told me to come with him. I said, I was only a little Teddy bear and could not do much about the things which are wrong in this world. Leo got all angry, and said that if everybody was thinking this way, nothing good would ever change! He said, even Brigitte Bardot was out there to fight for justice for Cecil. This certainly was convincing!
So, I got from Miki a flag for animals rights, and a crutch, and we mobilise everybody else in the house to go and demonstrate. Only our tiny and fragile Benjamin Butterscotch didn't want, too scared to be hurt.
But everybody else went. Not always demonstrating for the real cause as you can see, but well... especially that bloody Minion, he is such an egoist creature, and thinks only of getting out of his cage to chase me again with his banana!
Love you all
xx
